What’s In Between?

If the average American consumes between 3,500 and 6,000 calories on Thanksgiving and another 2,200 at each additional holiday party between the thankful day and the new year, we’re looking at a lot, and I mean a lot of excess calories.

Think about it, 2,200 calories at one party, that’s not the whole day, that’s over a few hours at one party.

How many holiday parties do you attend between Thanksgiving and the New Year?  Take that number and multiply it by 2,200.

Fight off the temptation to overindulge on foods that might not even taste all that great.  Remember to choose hor d’oeuvres that aren’t fried or resting on a baguette.  Instead choose fresh veggies, baked hor d’oeuvres, and lean proteins.  The biggest tip, stay clear of egg nog and mixed drinks, and drink a glass of water between other beverages.

Finally, as always, be sure to include exercise into your routine at least 3 times a week to help keep yourself healthy and active.

Thursday Workouts:

Start with Snatch/Turkish Get Up Combo 12 x 1/1, try to increase weight as you feel comfortable

Then, 2 Rounds of…

  • 10 Full Contact Twists
  • 10/10 Ring Pull Throughs
  • 20 Deep In and Outs
  • 20/20 PalOff Presses
  • 30 Flutter Kicks
  • 30/30 Single Leg Reaches
