Thank you…

The Burpees & Burgers Fundraiser event for JDRF – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was a HUGE HUGE success.  I loved the support of the Urban Athlete crew, members current and past, and friends and family.  Thank you so much for your support to a cause that so is near and dear to my heart.

While we still have pledges to collect, we have currently surpassed our goal of $1,000 for the event. Raffle tickets alone brought in $1,010.00.  Pledges collected to date are at $755.00.  We also received a very generous donation of $.50 per every burpee completed between 6:30-8:30, with a $100 bonus if we collectively did more than 1,000 burpee (which we succeeded at) for an additional $764.00.

Right now Urban Athlete members, family, and friends have completed 1,328 burpees and have raised $2, 530.00 (and still counting)!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Our top Burpee performers:

Female  - Shantih – 69 burpees

Male – Noah – 95 burpees

Now, on to Saturday’s workout:

40 seconds on / 20 seconds rest x 6 rounds of:

  • Step Up w/ Reverse Lunge (odd rounds one leg, even rounds the opposite)
  • Kettlebell High Pulls
  • Overhead Squats
  • T Rotations

Have a fun and safe July 4th weekend, we will be closed on Monday, but open for regular business on Tuesday, July 5th.

    Pamela,
Burpees and Burgers was an incredible event. We had a blast, though I believe you should have had more categories of winners — like “Most Burpees By a Red-Headed Liberal Arts Major” . . .
